Growing up in South Florida in the early 2000s, there wasn't much to do. I will be frank—Miami and Fort Lauderdale are best for those 21+, and forget about Pembroke Pines and Miramar.

Mall, restaurant, and repeat.

My friends and I felt like we were going crazy, so it's such a great feeling to rediscover my hometown as an adult with freedom and more than $20... maybe... sometimes.

Read below for all the details of this huge market filled with good food, handmade clothes, and all the exotic fruit and veggies you can think of!

Location

3080 Sheridan St Hollywood, FL 33021

Parking

Once you enter, there is a lot of parking to choose from, but my suggestion is to park in the closest lot to the gate. There's a $15 fee for the first hour, and then $3 for every additional hour. After all the walking you will be doing, you'll be grateful you spent the extra bucks and saved yourself the long walk.

If you choose not to park in the south parking lot, the north parking lot is available for a $15 fee for the entire day.

Market Stalls

Here at the Yellow Green Market there are so many fresh foods and clothing stalls to browse through that it feels overwhelming. I came across fruits native to my family's homeland, Jamaica, and the most stunning handmade clothing that puts fast fashion to shame.

The market featured a wide array of stalls offering diverse cuisines, including Colombian, Haitian, Venezuelan, Mediterranean, and more. I chose the barbecued pork, which was delicious and generously portioned for the price. I also found an ice cream stand named Cool & Creamy, and on such a hot day, I couldn't resist getting a tasty cookies and cream milkshake.

To be honest, the prices at this market were relatively high due to the venue's nature, but I believe the experience justifies the cost. I wouldn't recommend it for regular grocery shopping, but if you're seeking a unique experience with plenty of options to explore, this is the place to be.

Experience

This slice of Hollywood is a hidden gem where you can soak up different cultures without emptying your wallet. It’s the perfect spot to wander for hours—chatting with locals, tasting new flavors, grooving to live music, or hunting down that one-of-a-kind piece for your closet. With endless things to explore, you’re guaranteed a day packed with color, energy, and unforgettable vibes.
